New Plochere Color!
In 1948, to support their decorating business, Gladys and Gustave Plochere developed a color system based on Wilhelm Ostwald's color theory. Originally consisting of 1248 colors produced on individual cards, it was eventually supplemented by 208 gray colors to produce a total of 1456 colors.
Now on the third generation, the Plochere family continues to produce the Plochere Color System. Through the generosity of the Plochere family, we have been allowed to publish our measurements of this beautiful color system.
We put our top color maniac on the job to measure all these colors. The result: the spectra for these colors are now in our Spectral Library for all to use in their studies and researches.
